The Conference and Study Center (CSC) is a result of a long-term strategic partnership between the National and University Library "St. Kliment Ohridski "- Skopje and the British Council - Macedonia and it operated through joint ventures from December 2005 to December 2011. The National Library independently manages and organizes events in CSC from the beginning of 2012.

CSC can be used extensively in many areas for lectures, presentations, promotions, workshops, seminars, video conferences, distance learning and other activities related to the young people and the EU, and all in order to exchange and enrich knowledge. CSC is open to all citizens and groups from governmental, business or civic sectors.

What is videoconferencing?

In addition to traditional approaches, the Conference Center offers modern studio for video conferencing. Video conferencing is a form of communication that integrates video link and speech. Video conference technology brings people face- to-face in real time with sound and image from remote locations. Also, they can use this technology for sharing documents, delivering presentations and providing training.

Why use video conferencing?

There are many benefits of using video conference.

• you can communicate more regularly with people in other districts or countries, which would otherwise be costly or difficult to travel to and from
• opportunity to hold video conferences with more people compared to meetings where all of them will have to attend, because every side uses its facilities
• video conference communication and meetings are often much shorter in total as no travel is involved A meeting that might take you away from work for several days (due to travel) may take only one or two hours using a video conference
• Video conferencing saves money because it reduces costs - no need for all the costs involved with travel, food and tickets.
• Telephone calls or e-mails are not always the best way to communicate with others. Interactive meetings can help generate ideas, and enable people to react to each other more spontaneously.
• Video conferencing allows collaboration by real time document sharing. People in different areas can work on a single project and make contributions.
• Many institutions can participate simultaneously, thus gaining a much greater level of involvement. For example, a lecture broadcast to students at different educational institutions.
