Library information
The library user can orally request and ask over the phone to receive general information about:
- The history, the status and the function of the Library
- The types of services offered by the Library and the terms of use
- Information resources available in the Library
- The content and the organization of the book and non-book materials and the terms of use of them
- Organization of the library network in the Republic of Macedonia
Along with registered users, other people (individually or collectively) who are interested in the activities and services of the Library can obtain this kind of information, whereupon they are issued a temporary card - Visitor. With this card, the visitors are not entitled to the services as the registered users of the Library. The user groups (more than 5), must submit a written request at least 3 days before the visit.

References for independent use of information sources
The Library users can also, on oral request, obtain guidelines on independent usage of:
- Public/readers Library catalogues in catalogue cards (c.c.)
- The electronic library catalogue OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)
- Mutual electronic catalogue of the libraries in the Republic of Macedonia
- Other information sources available in the Library
Training for independent use of information sources is also performed for groups of high school and universities students in Macedonia, within the Training Programs for Users.

Thematic search/research information from the Library materials
The Library user, on the basis of a written request (a letter, fax or e-mail), or via the e-service “Ask the librarian”, can require thematic research of information on various scientific and expert fields.
In the written request, along with the user information is included:
- The field and the subject of the required information
- Keywords (in Macedonian or English) which determine the theme
- Information sources (only from the Library material or wider)
- Limitations in terms of language, time period, types of the required documents etc.
- Mean and medium in which the user requires the information
- User valuation of the relevance of the obtained data (search valuation)
The thematic information research from the Library material is performed by searching the Library catalogues, and the user can receive the search results orally or as a reference list (in hard copy or electronically).
For the thematic research information from the Library material obtained in hard copy, the user shall pay a fee according to the Pricelist.
